Irish coast & Scottish Hebrides (January 2005)

Irish coastal flooding during January 2005; storm surge caused by a low which tracked NW of Ireland and into Scottish waters on the 11th and 12th January 2005.

This was part of a series of storms which hit the UK and Ireland during this month; See also the description of to this Atlantic Depression storm.

Unnamed November storm (2011)

A combination of spring tides and storm force winds caused flooding along the east coast of the UK in this unnamed November storm.

Flooding was reported along the UK east coats on the nght of 27th November 2011, including Whitby, the Humber and Norfolk. 

Winter storm Ulli (2012)

Winter storm, or cyclone, Ulli (called Emil in Norway) was a severe windstorm affecting many parts of Europe in early January 2002. As well as damage due to high winds, Ulli caused flooding and high winds across the southern North sea.

Winter storm Emma (2008)

Emma was a strong European cyclonic windstorm in February/March 2008, particularly affecting Central Europe, where winds reached up to 166km/hr. Storm surge warnings were issued, although in the end the flooding was limited.

A complex triple storm event over the North sea between 16 and 21 January 2007, causing severe weather in the Netherlands and a storm surge in the Irish sea.

Winter storm Britta was a major storm in the North sea during early November 2006, affecting countries around the North and Baltic seas. It caused a surge record in Delfzijl, Netherlands, and a 100-year event in the Southern Kattegat.
