Cyclone Krosa (2013)

Cyclone Krosa is currently active in the Western Pacific, heading towards the Philippines and southern China.

The JRC/GDACS model is predicting storm surge heights of up to 0.7m along the Chinese coast.

NB, this figure is from advisory 10 at 0600 on 31/10/13. Earlier advisorys gave surge heights of over 1m, and further changes can be expected as the situation evolves.

In the Philippines, there are warnings of high waves and a surge of ~1m, though with low damage expected. (See this alert.)

In China, the National Marine Environment Forecasting Centre is predicting waves of up to 8m in the South China Sea (see this report).

As a result, this event has been initiated using eSurge Live. Satellite data for this event are available in the eSurge database.
