GlobWave User Meeting details released

The DUE GlobWave project has been set up by ESA to improve the uptake of satellite-derived wind-wave and swell data by the scientific, operational and commercial user communities. As such, its outputs may be of interest to the eSurge user community.

Details of its latest user meeting have just be announced. This will be held at the headquarters of the European Maritime Safety Agency in Lisbon, Portugal on 7-8 November 2012.

The meeting is a great opportunity to hear how GlobWave data is being used for a variety of applications, give your feedback on the project and hear about the plans for the coming years.  This year we are particularly interested in hearing about applications of GlobWave data, so case studies and testimonials are especially welcome.

There is no cost for registration and, in addition to lots of exciting talks, we are also able to offer tours of the EMSA facilities (including the Maritime Support Centre) and a free evening networking event with dinner and drinks. Some limited travel support is also available for abstracts selected by the Programme Committee. We have also arranged for delegates to be able to book rooms at the four-star Hotel Vincci Baixa at special discounted rates. This hotel is within walking distance of EMSA, making it ideally suited for delegates. Please note the number of rooms is limited so book early to avoid disappointment.
