Course outline

The draft programme (as of January 31st, 2014) for this course is as follows:

Day 1 will ensure all modellers and forecasters comprehend all the key concepts on forecasting and modelling, then present the issue at hand (the untapped potential for EO data input). Day 2 shall focus on inputting & researching ways and means to exploit the full range of EO data available, and identify how to proceed.

The course focuses heavily on group work, aiming to establish as many collaborative networks as possible over the course of the two days.

Costs

The course is provided free to participants, as is travel from Cork city centre to the National Maritime College of Ireland and back.

Travel to/from, and accomodation/food costs in Cork are the responsibility of participants.

There is no further funding available to support additional participants.

Some important dates

Course dates: February 20th and 21st, 2014

Course is not open to further participants. If you wish to be networked with your regional contact, please let us know here.

Unlike the Storm Surge Networking forum in Venice, this eSurge event has not been timed to coincide with high water. However, Cork is often affected by Storm Surges so wellies may yet be needed (we sincerely hope not!!!).

More information will be published on this page once available, and will be sent directly to those who have registered.

If you have any queries, or need any clarifications, please do not hesitate to contact the eSurge team at eSurge@outlook.com

The local organisers based in the Coastal and Marine Research Centre (CMRC), and working with our partners in IMERC and the NMCI look forward to extending a warm Céad Míle Fáilte (Welcome) to you all in Cork.
