Tropical Cyclone Trami

Cyclone Trami (also called Maring) is forecast to make landfall on the chinese coast on the 21st August.

This event was initiated in the eSurge Live service on 19th August 2013 in response to this GDACS alert, which forecast a surge of up to 1.3 m in China on landfall. See also this article from Reuters alertnet.

Updates:

  • 21/8/13: Trami's eye did not make landfall in Taiwan, though it still caused torrential rain. See this article from Taiwan news.
  • 21/8/13: Latest GDACS report suggests a surge of 1.1m in China. Landfall on mainland due early on 22/8/13.
