Tropical Storm (was hurricane) Sandy

A storm surge warning is currently in place for the east coast of the United States from the late-season tropical storm Sandy. See this advisory and this storm surge forecast issued by the US National Hurricane Centre.
Sandy has already made landfall in Jamaica and Cuba, causing around 40 casualties. A storm surge of up to 2m has been reported in Cuba (see e.g. this Reuters report).
